Earthrise Technologies and Telenor Connexion partner to launch first connected Eco-Navigation device

Earthrise Technologies (www.earthrisetech.com), a subsidiary of the Digisec Group (www.digisecgroup.com), and Telenor Connexion (www.telenorconnexion.com), the leading machine-to-machine (M2M) connectivity provider, have formed a partnership to deploy Digisec’s unique and innovative eco navigation product, Eco-Way, using Telenor Connexion’s global wireless connectivity solution for telematics applications. The partnership will initially focus on deploying eco-navigation devices in North America, and later in the year expand to Europe and other international markets. Read more

Transportation and logistics

Usage of wireless technologies within the transportation and logistics sector has been occuring for many years. However, new applications are constantly enabling a more efficient, secure and environmental-friendly transportation chain. This sector covers solutions for vehicles and other transportation devices such as trucks, courier vans, trailers, rail cargo and container shipping. To give an idea of the size of this sector, ACEA (2009) estimates the number of commercial trucks in Europe (EU23+2) to approximately 33 million. In addition there are some 250,000 trailers produced on a yearly basis, many of which also require connectivity. Read more
