Telenor Norway in Connexion with M2M customers
Telenor Norway aims to be market leader in the M2M field. As part of this initiative, Telenor Business Norway has signed an agent agreement with Telenor Connexion to sell the M2M portfolio in Norway.
Telenor Business Norway has signed an agent agreement to sell the Telenor Connexion M2M portfolio in Norway. The agreement opens up new and exciting solutions for machine-to-machine communication to both Norwegian and international businesses.
M2M is a focus area for Telenor Norway for future revenue growth. The number of subscribers has grown by over 100 000 per year in 2009 and 2010. The market will probably increase many times over the next decade as a result of the new rules for Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) and when Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) comes into force.
– The agreement with Telenor Connexion allows us to provide a broader service offering as well as helps us reach new segments in Norway than with our own portfolio. In addition, the agreement enables us to deliver solutions globally and to offer customisation, says Abraham Foss, Division Director at Telenor Business Norway.
– Telenor Norway can now offer both new and existing customers new services and opportunities for further expansion, through its access to the advanced M2M services and a special M2M Quality Program. In particular, customers with potential to expand overseas, can take advantage of the global offering, says Henrik Rosell, Regional Sales Manager at Telenor Connexion.
Telenor Connexion currently has global clients like Volvo, Nissan, Daimler and Securitas Direct in its portfolio. The company was established in 2008, to meet a rapidly growing market for machine-to-machine communication. Telenor Connexion has its own sales organisation, which is in direct dialogue with customers, but also sells their services through the local Telenor companies.
Telenor Connexion is wholly owned by Telenor Group, the world’s sixth largest mobile operator, and is headquartered in Stockholm.
